Dean Edward Megee

Death: 8/10/2010, Monticello, Utah

Blackwell, OK/Moab, Utah – Dean Edward Megee passed away on Tuesday August 10, 2010.

Dean was born in Ponca City, OK on January 27, 1947 to Jessie Edgar and Dorthie Mason Megee. After high school, Dean served in the Navy in the Vietnam Era. Dean started running rivers for North American from 1976 to 1989. In 1990 Dean started to work for Tag-a-Long doing what he enjoyed, being a river guide. He had a great love for nature and life. Dean moved back to Oklahoma about 5 years ago but always came back to Moab for a summer of fun on the river.

Dean is survived by his Wife Kathryn of Blackwell, OK; a son Travis (Lynn) Ponca City, OK; a daughter Janet (Joel) Israel of Cedar City, UT; his mother Dorthie, and brother David both of Ponca City OK; a sister Laverne Megee of Grand Junction, CO, 4 grandchildren Aidan and Fiona Megee and Feid, and Gabby Israel, and numerous nephews and nieces.

At Dean’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

A memorial fund has been set up at Wells Fargo in Dean’s name.
