Newt Rulon R Sheffer

Rulon R. Sheffer better known as Newt, passed away on August 16, 2014 surrounded by family.

Newt was born on November 8,1938 in Lapoint, Utah to Vern and Bernice Sheffer, he was the youngest of eight boys. Newt married Connie on December 2, 1973 in Ely, Nevada.

Newt will forever be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather, friend and person. He worked several years in the mines and for JW Nelson Construction. Newt was known for his contagious smile, detailed stories of his life, and endless jokes. He was a hard worker, loved rock hunting and spending time with his family. His hobbies included building tables and chairs for his grandchildren and winning stuffed animals for all the kids from the ‘claw machines. Newt was loved by all children.

Newt is survived by his Wife, Connie Sheffer, Children; Rick Sheffer of Hurricane, UT, Kathleen (Patrick) Allred of Salt Lake City, UT, Ed (Dani) Guerrero and Monty (Torrie) Guerrero of Moab, UT. His brothers; Bert, Jack, Dan and Klin Sheffer along with many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews,

He is preceded in death by his parents Vern and Bernice Sheffer and brothers Gene, Ivan and Don Sheffer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at LDS Stake Center on Locust Lane at 2:00 pm. A viewing will be held on Friday August 22, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Spanish Valley Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church. . Interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
