Gloria Ann Denney

Gloria Ann Denny “Granny” 77, of Moab, Utah peacefully passed away February 13 in her home surrounded by family.
She was born February 17, 1934 in Moab to Ken and Helen McDougall.
May 15, 1951 , she married the love of her life, Venice Clavin Denney in Aztec, New Mexico. Together they made Moabb their home and raised four wonderful children, Kenneth, Kevin (Jan), Karie, and Kelly (Rochell). She was a loving granny to Vanessa, Nicholas, Jenny, Steven, Jason, Angie, Calvin, Mariah, Samantha, and Denny, and a proud great- grandmother to Connor, Ryelan, Colby, Johnathan, Amelia, Cash Venice, Kelvin, and Daxtyn.
She is also survived by her brother Ted (Vonna) McDougall.
Gloria wa preceded in death by her parents, Ken and HelenMCDougall and a daughter-in-law Barbara Denny. Granny made all her family proud. She was Grand County Librarian for 34 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Utah State University after raising her four children. She was an avid reader, a tough ping pong competitor, champion of rummy, and always made her family laugh.
She also enjoyed spending time at the cabin that Papa built for her in the LASal Mountains. She was the most nurturing person we could ever know (unless you beat her at cards, which rarely happened, then you better watch out). She had many passions and knew what she wanted out of life.
A viewing was held Thursday February 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Spanish Valley Moruary in Moab. Graveside services will be held Friday February 17, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Grand Valley Cemetery.
