Born: 3/8/1967, Pelham, New Hampshire Diane Jaqueline Morse, 44, died February 4, 2012 at Moab Regional Hospital. Diane was born March 8, 1967 to David Allen and Doreen Frances Dunkerley Morse in Pelham, New Hampshire. Her family moved to Utah in the 1970’s. Diane attended some special needs schools in the state of Utah, including the Sundwell School in Moab, School of the Deaf and Blind in Ogden, and a school sponsored by the Shriners. She was always at the top in her classes. Many in Moab and surrounding communities helped her in many ways, and she was thankful for it. She wrote a thank you a several years ago that went like this. I can’t see, speak, or walk without braces and a walker. My mommy is helping me write this letter. Mom told me how everyone has worked to sponsor me and other healthy strong kids to skate to help fight and make me and many others like me well so we could learn neat things to do. Mommy told me even though Moab and other towns were low on money they gave just so maybe someday I could get well. Mommy asked me if I wanted to thank everyone. I picked up my head and tried to speak, but tears started to run. Right then she knew the answer. Mom and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please God Bless all these wonderful people and their families for their sacrifice. Diane is survived by her mother Doreen O’Connell, her father David Morse, a sister Debbie Desmarias, her grandmother Leona Dunkerley, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. She is also survived by many neighbors and friends that were like family to her. She was preceded in death by her step-father Emmett O’Connell, a brother Doug Allen Morse, and an uncle Bill Dunkerley Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The people of Moab have blessed Diane’s life, and we thank you for all you did, and would like a special thanks to all her care givers, doctors, hospital staff and home health personal that all gave so much to help us over the past years.
