William Stephen Koci

Bill Koci, owner of Parkside Trailer Court , passed away February 7, 2012 in his home.
He was born December 31, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. He served his country in the Vietnam War. Bill worked for a printing company as a collator during the day and a bartender by night while living in Chicago.
He moved to Moab in 1985 and helped operate the Parkside Trailer Court with his father, Jerry Koci. He also worked for Adrift Adventures until 2008. He enjoyed seeing many of his repeat customers from around the world, who adored “Mr. Bill”. He shared many wild tales of the river with them.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his Moab family and leaves behind many special friends. Bill will be remembered for his generosity to many people who needed help.
He cared for his father who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, until the day died. He was a dedicated son, loving uncle, and trustworthy friend.
Bill was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan. He liked discussing politics.
Bill is survived by his sister Karen (Vince) Grzelak; nephew Gary (Lauri) Grzelak of Illinois, niece Diane (Ron) De Torrice of Indiana; three great nieces Abby, Allison, and Amy DeTorrice; and two great nephews Daniel DeTorrice and Joe Grzelak.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mary andJerry Koci; and aunt and uncle Frank and Jean Heteniak.
Memorial services were held Thursday at 1:30 pm at Spanish Valley Mortuary in Moab. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
