Richard Earl “Buckshot” Dalton passed away on August 13, 2013 surrounded by family and friends at Moab Regional Hospital.

Buckshot lived a full life cowboying in the mountains and desert of the intermountain west. His loves were horses (All phases) fishing, good working dogs, hunting, family and telling stories to anyone who would listen.
He is survived by 3 daughters Darlena Schlachter of Cheyenne, WY, Yvonne (Justin) Leavitt, Monroe, UT, Valene (Josh) Robertson, of Monroe, UT; 3 sons Gratt (Corinne) Dalton of Emery, UT, Rusty Amber) Barnes Rangely, CO, Casey (Alicia) Gines Grand Junction, CO, 3 sisters Betty (Ike) Gilpin, Coleen (Milo) Randall, Lynda Moore; a brother Cecil Kay (Susie) Dalton; 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a whole remuda of other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Neva Dalton, a daughter Yvette Dalton, and a sister Bertha (Burt) Adkinson.
At Buckshot request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 24, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Grand Center 182 North 500 West Moab, UT.
