We celebrate the life of Gail Ruth (Jackson) Ryan who passed away quietly in her home on October 22, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones ~ The oldest of three daughters, Gail was born September 5, 1931 in Stephenville, Texas to Hollis and Pauline (Kay) Jackson. She graduated Stephenville High school in 1948.
On July 2, 1955 Gail married Chester “Chet” Ryan. Chet had a career in the Air Force and was stationed at several bases. They had three children- son, James Jackson “Jack” (Julie), son, Richard Alan “Kepha” (Aron), and daughter, Lisa Kaye Strickland (Roger).
After the death of her husband in 1971, Gail furthered her education and graduated from Chico State University with a Bachelor’s degree in business. In 1984 she went to work for the US Forest Service as Public Info and Human Resources, where she had many fond memories.
In 2002 Gail moved to Moab, Utah to be with her widowed sister Doris “Deborah” Taylor who preceded her in death in 2009. Gail had a devout faith in the Creator and took the baptism name Abigail Jael. She loved to draw and paint when she was younger, read and study the scriptures, but the love she had for her family was her greatest joy.
She leaves behind her youngest sister Vicki Lynn “Annie”, three children, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Elisheba Zarahiah and her children who took great care of “Abigail” whom she loved as her own.

They Live On |
Those we love remain with us
For love itself
lives on;
Cherished memories never fade Because one loved
is gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought
apart;
For as long as there’s a memory, They live
on within our heart.
