Born: 4/22/1924, Sunnyside, Washington He was born in Sunnyside, Washington, but lived in Eugene, Oregon with his two brothers and two sisters, for most of his youth. Gordon joined the U. S. Navy after High School and served honorably as a Radioman during World War II in the South Pacific. He married (Sarah) Darlene Winters in October of 1945 and they settled in Eugene, Oregon raising three children. Gordon was a strong, moral and ethical man who loved his family and always sought to do the right thing. He was a premier auto painter in Eugene for 25 years, and Darlene was an Administrative Office Manager at BLM. Following promotional opportunities at BLM, they left Eugene and ultimately settled in Moab, Utah in 1984. Gordon loved the outdoors and particularly loved the red rock of Southeastern Utah. He loved driving the back roads in his 4x4 blazer, and was an avid hiker having walked through a myriad of canyons and trails around Moab. Darlene died after a difficult bout with cancer in 1987. Gordon was fortunate to find his second love with Mary Anne Green. They married in 1988 and continued to live in Moab until 2012, before health issues forced them to move to a nursing home in Fruita, Colorado. Gordon is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Anne, and his three children – Sandra Kerns, Cheryl Greenstreet, and David Harris, along with 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Mary Anne can be contacted at maryanneharris81521@gmail.com or (970)858-5193.
