Our angel, Mother Carma Jean Olsen Stainbrook returned to her Heavenly Home on August 26, 2014 just 4 1/2 months after the passing of her sweetheart and husband of 58 years Merlyn. Living without him was very hard, but she proved each day that she had great strength. Even surprising herself.

Mom was born on October 4, 1937 in Santa Monica, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd B Olsen and Etta Johnson Olsen of Moab and her husband Merlyn J. Stainbrook. She was a dedicated wife, Mother and homemaker. Mom loved everything in it's place. She was very organized and efficient. She and Dad enjoyed many traveling adventures. She spent countless hours creating her family picture books and decorating her home. She loved The San Antonio Spurs! The beautiful views from Her Spring Creek, Nevada home brought her great peace and joy. Lady, her faithful dog, will miss Mom's devoted care and friendship.

Survivors include; brother Melvin (Dianne) Olsen of Summerville, SC, children Vickie (Harold) Remund of Midway, UT, Kerry (Tricia) Stainbrook of Lincoln, CA, Kellie (Daryle) Carroll of Elko, NV, Shawn (Colleen) Stainbrook of Carson City, NV, Cherie (Blake) Teansky of Hotchkiss, CO, Kimberly (Randy) Clift of Tolleson, AZ, 20 Grandkids and 11 Great Grandkids.

We knew it would be very hard to fill Dad's shoes after he passed such a short time ago. Though Mom was strong, she just couldn't go on without her sweetheart. We think that she died peacefully of a broken heart. We are so grateful for the promise of the resurrection and forever families and all of the memories that we hold in our hearts. We love you Mom.

There will be a brief graveside memorial service for Mom on Saturday September 13th at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Valley, south of Moab, at 11:00 am. All family and any friends or acquaintances who would like to attend are welcome.

They Live OnThey Live On

   Those we love remain with us
   For love itself lives on;

   Cherished memories never fade
   Because one loved is gone.

   Those we love can never be
   More than a thought apart;

   For as long as there’s a memory,
   They live on within our heart.
