Born: 1/8/1921, Byers, Texas Green River – William Louie Caffee, 87, passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Junction on November 15, 2008. William was born in Byers, Texas January 8, 1921 to Chester and Colesta Bean Caffee. He grew up in Texas attending school and then college there. After 2 years of college he was drafted into the navy during World War II. Following his time of serves he married Mary Lou Wise on May 25, 1949 in Plainview, Texas. William started to work for a missile defense contractor and stayed with that work until he retired as an engineer. William in Vandenberg and was transferred from Santa Maria, CA to Green River, UT 45 years ago for work. When the base closed in Green River he was transferred to Sunny Veil, CA until he retired. He then returned to Green River 32 years ago and stay there every since. He was a member of the AARP and American Legion. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou of Green River, UT; a son Dr. Mark (Suzanne) Caffee of West Lafayette, Indiana; a daughter Nancy Lou Caffee of Fresno, CA; 2 grandchildren William and Richard Caffee. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday November 19, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Green River LDS Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held that day at 10:00 am at the church.
