His parents moved to Monticello, UT in 1954 but he returned to Truth or Consequences to finish school. He graduated in May 1957. He was planning to join the air force and took a trip to Utah to visit his parents. His plans took another turn when he met the love of his life there. After a whirlwind courtship he and Roberta Eggers were married June 25, 1957. People said they were too young and it would never last.

To this union was born 3 wonderful children. Then as they married they added 3 more children (he didn't have any in-laws, only children). Dona & (Rick) Holder, Steve & (Dawn) Croasmun, Deborah & (Dean) Donathan.

He had 9 grandchildren plus 4 more through marriage. Bambi & Will Sharp, Tiffany Holder, Brittany & Jamie Nichols, Cody Croasmun, Dezere' Croasmun, Tyler Croasmun, Morgan & Kristen Donathan, Sheila & Mat Woolcott, and Brandon Donathan.

And 14 great grandchilden. Nicholas, Faline & Raelyn Sharp. Ryker & Paige Holder. Brant & Mason Nichols. Shaylee Donathan, Matthew, Jaxson & Weston Woolcott. Katie, Emma Roberta & Grayson Max Donathan.

Max was a truck driver most of his life. In 1969 he felt God call him to go to Shirley Basin WY to help start a church where he pastored until November of 1973. Then he moved his family back to Moab UT where he and his brother Jerry owned a tire shop. He then went back to driving truck until he retired in 2010.

Max enjoyed hunting, camping, and gardening (especially his roses and flowers). He adored his family and couldn't spend enough time with them. He loved his pastor and all of his church family. Most of all, he loved God and served him faithfully.

He was preceeded in death by both parents, 2 grandbabies, and his brothers R.G. and Jerry. He is survived by his wife of 59-1/2 years Roberta and his 3 children; Dona & (Rick) Holder, Steve & (Dawn) Croasmun, Deborah & (Dean) Donathan. 9 (13) grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

His services are/were November 8th at the Community Church. A viewing was November 7th from 6-8pm at the Spanish Valley Mortuary.

A memorial fund has been set up (in lieu of flowers) at Wells Fargo Bank: Max Croasmun Memorial Fund.

They Live OnThey Live On

   Those we love remain with us
   For love itself lives on;

   Cherished memories never fade
   Because one loved is gone.

   Those we love can never be
   More than a thought apart;

   For as long as there’s a memory,
   They live on within our heart.
