Matthew William Johnston was born on July 30th 1981 at Allen Memorial Hospital to Susan & Robert W. Johnston. Siblings; Timothy B. Johnston and Jennifer Johnston Rice. Matthew was an amazing husband, father, uncle, son, cousin and friend to many. Matthew's parents separated when he was young and his Mom Susan remarried Scott Johnston who became Matthew’s dad and lifelong best friend. Matthew graduated in 2000, he married his best friend Taylor in 2008. From that marriage came Conner (8) and Skyler (5), who were his greatest accomplishment in life. He was very passionate about the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and just having a great time with his family.

Matthew was a man of many trades, electrician, gas industry, plumber, concrete worker, anything construction he could do and do well. Recently Matthew used those traits to build his family an amazing home. Matthew was working at Intrepid Potash when an unexpected tragic accident ended his short life on November 10th 2018, which has left a huge void in many, many people’s life.

He is survived by his beautiful wife Taylor Johnston, Children; Conner Alvie Johnston, and Skyler Jean Johnston. Mom and Dad Susan and Scott Johnston. Sister Jennifer & Vance Johnston Rice. Niece Maggie Rice and Nephew Wyatt Rice. Any many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and extended family.

They Live OnThey Live On

   Those we love remain with us
   For love itself lives on;

   Cherished memories never fade
   Because one loved is gone.

   Those we love can never be
   More than a thought apart;

   For as long as there’s a memory,
   They live on within our heart.
