Jack Roland Foy

Jack Foy, 72, passed away unexpectedly on February 23rd 2020 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Jack was born March 13th, 1947 in Moab, Utah to Roland and Delma (Dee) Foy. He was the third child of 5 children.

Jack graduated from Grand County High School in 1965, shortly after graduating he joined the United States Navy and served 4 Years. During his time in the United States Navy he earned his certification in Diesel Mechanics and was a Mechanic on the Minesweepers in the Vietnam War. When Jack returned home he married Jeri (Brown) Foy on June 26th, 1971. Together they raised 2 sons and 1 daughter. Jack spent most of his life as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, with his last years working for the National Park Service in Maintenance where he retired on June 1st 2018. Jack cherished his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. After his retirement he had many adventures and lived life to the fullest; fishing, camping, boating, beekeeping, gardening, trail riding, hunting with his son and grandsons and teaching them how to mechanic. Jack was a Jack of all Trades, there was nothing he couldn’t build or fix.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Jeri Foy; his parents, Roland and Delma Foy; his brother Kirk Foy; his nephew, Jeremy Foy and his brother in law Pete Herrick.

Jack is survived by his brother Jim (Sandy) Foy: his sisters, Verna (Gordon) Butcher and Susan Herrick; his sons, Jack (Tara) Foy Jr., Corey (Michaelle) Foy and his daughter Shelley (William) Hupp; his grandchildren Bridget (Carlos) Padilla, Tiffany (Jeremiah) Windsor, Kylie Foy, Tyler Foy, Brendan Foy, Chloe Rapier, Cameron Rapier, Christopher Hupp, Carrie Hupp and William Hupp Jr.; his companion, Donna Whetstone; his precious chocolate lab Rocky; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday March 3, 2020 at 10:00 am at the St Pius X Catholic Church. A viewing will be held Monday March 2, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Spanish Valley Mortuary. Burial with military rites will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
