Lois Marian Jamison
Born: 6/14/1925, Fort Dodge, Iowa
Lois was "Promoted to Glory" with her Lord on March 9, 2020, in Moab, Utah.
She was born June 14, 1925 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Roy and Julia (Johnson) Lind. She grew up in Sheldon, Iowa with three sisters, Mary, Margaret #61320600, Jane, and her brother John (Jane and John are twins).
She graduated from high school there, went a year to college in Sioux City, Iowa, before joining the Cadet Nurse Corps in November of 1944.
She worked at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, IA, where she trained for five years.
She met and married Richard Riley in 1947. They had three children: Kathleen, David and Barbara. They divorced in 1952, and she moved to Arizona with her children.
Lois met the love of her life, Lyle E. Jamison, and they were married April 3, 1954. They combined their families and spent 37 years together until his death in 1991.
During those early years, they became "Page Pioneers", helping to birth "America's Last Frontier" -- Page, Arizona.
She is survived by daughters, Georgette (John) Shoenberger and Kathleen Ellis; sons, David (Kay) Jamison and Lyle R. Jamison; grandchildren, Rhonda Home, Amy McKenzie, Matt Jamison and Julie D'Alessandro. Also her "Moab family", Bob and Clara Davenport and family, and her close friend from Glen Canyon NRA days in Page as well as all the years celebrating their friendship together in Moab--Karla Hancock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Lyle; daughters, Barbie and Judy; and granddaughter, Bobbi Dee.
Lois was a longtime member of Community Church, Alpha Rho Sorority, Valley Voices, Lions Club and American Legion Auxiliary.
At her request, her cremains following cremation will be interned with her husband in Sunset Cemetery at a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
