Gary Wade Campbell

Born: 5/17/1940, Durango, Colorado
Death: 4/27/2020, Bedrock, Colorado
Service: Private

Gary Wade Campbell passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on April 27, 2020.

Gary was born May 17, 1940, in Durango Colorado, La Platta County, to Marjorie Ethel Wood, and William Bristor Campbell. Gary was one of 4 children.

Gary along with his sisters Carol, BermaDean, and Ladell, were raised in Utah and Colorado. After graduation Gary Worked for the County Road among other jobs but spent most of his life as a driller and that's what he loved doing. Although Gary was hard of hearing he was an excellent driller knowing what to do by the vibration on the rigs.

Gary met Judie in Moab in 1979 and they have been together ever since. He and Judie traveled to many states following one drill rig or another. They finally settled in Lund, Utah where they loved living and did many jobs there and worked on their place which they were very proud of. When they began getting older we moved them back to Bedrock to be near his sister Carol, where they resided until his passing.

Gary is survived by his wife Judie, of over 40 years; Son JD Rose, daughters Debbie (Jerry) Swasey, Tina (Mark) Dickerson, Michelle Rose, and Cherie Ude; Sisters, Ladell Kinsey, and Carol Chiles; 9 Grandchildren and 22 Great-grandchildren, and Little Man his trusty dog. Gary is also survived by many other nieces and nephew and cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents William and Marjorie, a Sister BermaDean ,brother inlaw George and a Granddaughter Amanda Rose.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to his daughter Michelle Rose whom has been living with him and taking care of him for the past year.

Also we would like to express our gratitude to all the people who helped take care of Gary. He was surrounded by many family and friends before he passed from the Bedrock, Paradox and the surrounding area.

At Gary's request cremation has taken place and will be buried in Paradox, CO at a private service that will take place at a later date.

One of the strongest and most loyal friend we've ever had, we will miss you old friend. Our thoughts and prayers go to sweet Judie and family. Gary and Judy lived near our ranch in Lund, UT. We miss our sweet neighbors, he can now have a good visit over a cup of coffee with McRay. We will never forget Gary's kindness and countless hours helping us brand, fix tires and trailers. Rest In Peace. Much love,
- Brian & Kaitlin (Wood) Milne

They Live OnThey Live On

   Those we love remain with us
   For love itself lives on;

   Cherished memories never fade
   Because one loved is gone.

   Those we love can never be
   More than a thought apart;

   For as long as there’s a memory,
   They live on within our heart.
