OBITUARY

The LORD graced me with an 8lb, head full of hair, bouncing baby boy November 19, 1987, with a heart as big as Texas. He was raised by his mother and daddy La Donna and Larry Switzer-Hawn in Moab. He loved his family, he loved his friends, and he loved fishing, camping and hiking. He lived and breathed his kids: Elijah Moss and Eleyna Faye Coberly- he loved them to the moon and back and he loved his second family's kids. He was so loved by so many. He always helped everybody and always had a smile on his face. He was very humble, even experiencing a lot of heartache that he kept to himself. Being his mama, I always told him we were "knee deep in alligators" but not to worry or fear because the good LORD had plans for us.

He couldn't stay mad but for a minute, and was the most forgiving man I knew- a beautiful quality to have... The day he passed, I sat outside and took in the weather that captured our tumultuous emotions: the sky got black, wind blowing- raining and hailing- the street filling with water; I looked above Jessie's house and saw 4 eagles soaring. As well as one of the most breathtaking double rainbows starting to form; between those two sights, I knew that GOD had decided that Jessie had been hurting enough and took him home.

We (his whole family) got to witness a beautiful love between him and Misty Tharp in the year preceding his death. His heart was big and his dreams a close second: he wanted to travel to our "home country" in Ireland and taste every lip-smacking flavor of the south combining a mix of flavor to his delicious cooking that many knew well. He had an incredible sense of humor and a laugh that made it impossible not to laugh along.

Jessie was an extraordinary father, son, brother, uncle, friend, boyfriend, farmer (his love for his chickens and those eggs was proof of that) and gardener. He was a beautiful soul and everyone who knew him knew his kindness and love shone bright!

He is survived by his mother La Donna Switzer-Hahn, father Joey Bruce (Terrie) Coberly; children Elijah Moss and Eleyna Faye Coberly; brothers Brando (Nicole) James and their children Jharick, Breckyn James; Gabe (Kori) Olson their children Calvin, Alex and Gabby, Ava; sister in law Tiffany James her children Gannon, Hadlee, Harper of Wyoming; Brother-in-law Carson Shifflet and son Issac Shifflet; niece Dasia Gibbs; Hance cousins Erica, Devin, Billy, Gage, Baily James all of Oklahoma City.

Preceded in death by Grandparents Bill and Lil Hance, Lloyd Coberly; uncle Billy Hance, aunts Stephanie, Courtney Hance, sister De Leyna Shifflet; Brothers Hank, and Kambryn James, and his daddy Larry Switzer- Hahn. Jessie will be greatly missed but his love and compassion will live on.

Services will be held Monday, September 2, 2024, at 11am with a viewing beginning at 10am, at Spanish Valley Mortuary.
