OBITUARY

Meldon "Dean" Chapman passed away peacefully at home, on October 7th, 2024, at the age of 84. Dean was born in Provo, Utah, on June 11th, 1940, to Meldon Wright Chapman and Loretta Belle (Lea) Wickham. 

He attended Granite High School, where he enjoyed participating and competing on the swim team.

He had the pleasure of owning various wrecking yards over the years, where he was considered a walking encyclopedia on cars and car parts. Then later, he worked at Chip's Grand Tire, Nation's Towing and most recently at Farm and City. But what he loved doing most was spending time with family, hunting, camping, fishing, and all things automotive.

Dean is survived by his wife of 51 years Janeen (Babcock) Chapman; Daughters Becky (Jeff) Mellor, Robyn Chapman, Jennifer (Ryan) Scovill, Ronnie (Mike) McCurdy; Sons Troy (Suzy) Chapman, Shane Chapman, Justin (Tammy) Haviland, Shawn (Tammy) Chapman, Daniel (Hesper) Chapman; Sister Shirley Stewart;16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild on the way as well as many neices and nephews.

Dean is preceded in death by father Meldon Chapman, mother Loretta Wickham, brothers Ronnie Chapman and Don Wickham and his daughter Kelly Jean Chapman.

A potluck celebration of life will be held at the Old City Park, on October 26th, 2024, from 12pm-8pm with a memorial cruise around 1pm: bring your hotrod, motorcycle or daily driver to honor Dean.
