They Live OnThey Live On

   Those we love remain with us
   For love itself lives on;

   Cherished memories never fade
   Because one loved is gone.

   Those we love can never be
   More than a thought apart;

   For as long as there’s a memory,
   They live on within our heart.

OBITUARY

Roxie Johnson Day Mallon Arthur Brady was born October 21, 1955 to Jerry Day Sr. and Peggy Harper. She was raised by Peggy Harper and her honorary father Fred Johnson. She spent her life devoted to Grand County Sheriff’s Office and Moab City Police Department working as a 911 dispatcher and then transitioning to her role as an Administrative Assistant, where she retired in 2019, after 39 years. Roxie also moonlit as a server, where she loved interacting with all the locals and tourists, bringing food and a smile to anyone walking through the Branding Iron doors. When Roxie wasn’t at work, she was with her family (being the best Mimi), friends, watching the Hallmark channel, blasting songs from the 50’s and 60’s.

She was a beautiful, kind soul, who was known for her big sassy red hair with chunky blonde highlights and spunky personality. Roxie was truly a light, that brightened the room when she walked in the door. She never hesitated to greet you with a huge smile, hug, embarrassingly horrible dance move, karaoke with margarita in hand, or contagious laugh. Roxie was unapologetically herself and truly made this world a brighter place. Roxie is survived by her son, Jesse Mallon (Celia), Grandchildren Emberley,

Axton, Enzleigh, and Brixlee, her niece Kristina (Beau) Lohrer, nephew JJ (Mary) Day, nephew Dustin (Brook) Day, great nieces and nephews Chandra (Morgan) Weisbecker, Tanner (Sunny) Christensen, Gunnar Betts, Katie Lohrer, Rylie Lohrer, Paige Lohrer, and Harper Lohrer. Jacee (Bryson) Mackey, Brittany Day. In addition to her great-great nieces and nephews, Lincoln, Lainey, Josie, Baker, Everett, Drew, Beau, Ryker, and Olivia and brother Jerry Day. Roxie is also survived by those that became family along the way, Scott and Yvette Mallon and her life long friend Shauna Evan’s. Roxie is proceeded in death by her parents Peggy Bishop, Fred Johnson and Jerry Day Sr, and her grandparents Wayne and Rowene Day.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025, 1:00 PM, at The Community Church of Moab. Interment will follow the service at Grand Valley Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to share tributes online at www.SpanishValleyMortuary.com.
