OBITUARY

Roberto P. Lovato was born April 24, 1949, to Melicendro and Cidelia Lovato in Sante Fe, New Mexico, and left this earthly world on September 16, 2024, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman and loved just venturing out into his vast backyard. He was an excellent golfer; the Moab Golf Course was his second home. He won many tournaments through the years and gained many friends.

Bob excelled in sports in high school, actually winning a state title in track and a full scholarship to the College of Eastern Utah.

He learned about work at a young age, working alongside his dad for Redd Ranches in LaSal, Utah. He worked in the mines and the oilfield, eventually landing a job as electrician for the National Park Service, retiring in 2017, after 23 years of service. He was also a Veteran serving in the Army from August 1969 to May 1971.

Bob married Linda Halverson in May 1968 and along came son Robby Joe, December 30, 1970. They later divorced, then Bob met Laurie Victor, they had a 13-year relationship before it ended. He later married Naomi Gail Adkins and along came two beautiful daughters Anastasia and Sophia. They also later divorced. Bob entered into a relationship with Colene Christensen Terwilleger and remained in that relationship for 27 years until his passing.

He is survived by son, Robby (Julie) of Moab, Utah; daughters, Anastasia and Sophia of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; and acquired sons, Richard Christensen (Miya), Dale and Pete Terwilleger of Moab, Utah; sisters, Mary Madrid of Cortez, Colorado; ,Prescilla Lopez of Loma, Colorado; and brother, Mike (Rose) Lovato of Greenriiver, Wyoming; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents, sisters Olympia Martinez and Diana Moquino, brothers Alfred and Victor Lovato and granddaughter Emma Christensen.

He is now resting in peace and free of pain and will be greatly missed by many.

A memorial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moab, Utah, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in, Moab, Utah.
